BAD Florida Realtor

What is the name of your state? FL

This post was originally in response to the quoted post below. However, any help at all from anyone (especially those who are familiar with FL real estate) would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Okay...on to the stranger....

One lady that wanted to make an offer on the home the first time said that he actually told her what another buyer's offer was and suggested she make a "slightly higher offer".

Is he allowed to tell potential buyers, what others are offering?

Anyway, It looks like the Real Esate Board will be getting complaints from more than just me.

Please let us know if you have any success with FREC or whoever else you file a complaint with.

My brother has also had major problems with the seller's/listing agent, also in FL. Not quite the same as yours, but some parts of your post sounded very familiar. She refused to work with my brother's buyers agent and so he was forced to use her. She wouldn't return phone calls. As you mentioned above, she told him about another offer and suggested they make a slightly higher offer. I, too, wondered if that was allowed/ethical. She also misrepresented/lied about the condition of the house (roof was much older than stated, additions (4 out of 6) to the house were done with no permits, SQFT of the house was 1000 sqft LOWER -- 4000 sqft NOT 5000 -- than stated in MLS). BTW, are there rules about how much a real estate agent can be off on the reporting of SQFT??

I told my brother that he should file a complaint with FREC, but his RE attorney told him FREC is useless. They will just take the complaint to the real estate agent who will say, "oh i didn't know i was doing anything wrong" and promise not to do it again, and that's the end of it!! That's the attorney's opinion given the facts in my brother's case. I hope he's wrong.

Any help or suggestions anybody can give me to pass along to my brother would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Revise your post as a new thread and do not make reference to another thread or quote the other thread. It gets too confusing.
