Bait and Switch

What is the name of your state? Alabama

6 years ago someone sold us a mobile home.
The one we saw and signed papers on was in good condition.

When they delivered , it was a different story and a nightmare
for us. The one delivered to us looked similiar to the one we saw.
Except it was in bad condition.
All the lights from the ceiling were gone with nothing but wires hanging.
holes in the wall and more damage, It had been stripped
and looked vandalized.
We complained and they promised they would fix it.
I told them it should not be in that condition in the first place.

A man came out a few times to "fix" some things.
but really it never got fixed, it was just a mess and they expected us
to pay for it. Finally they got repocession of it.
My mother bought a house, and sold us her double wide
which we are making payments on to the loan company.
Its in my mothers name. With Land and mobile home we are paying
620.00 a month, we could get a good home for the same or less
than that. The mobile home is bad on electricity so the
electric bill is $500.00 a month. So we are paying way more
for a doublewide. And I want a Home so bad.

Now we cannot buy a home because of this Bait and Switch scam.
Suddenly we owe over 31,000 dollars for that piece of junk
which they got back and we no longer have.

Well there is no way I am paying one cent on that junk.
Some other company bought the account and they are calling
everyday which is a waste of time
Because we only answer calls we know.

I am looking at 2 homes for sale right now
that I want. I am afraid I will never be able to buy a decent home
because Everyone says No, every time I try.
Having a nice home is very important to me.
If I am Never able to buy a home, I'll just die.

You can ignore the calls but when the court papers arrive at the dooor you will not be so lucky.

They got it back because you allowed repossession NOT because you proved that it was junk you may still have to prove it in a court so save everything about this transaction.

Good luck on getting another home for a few years with this on your credit reports. It will cost you mighitly even if you do, like double digit interest rates.

You should have hired an attorney six years ago if in fact the bait and switch did occure.

You definitely need someone to help you out of the mess you're in now.

My situation is different from most.
I Don't work, I am not disabled, yet I get a high amount
of income they cannot legally touch.
So court papers won't mean a thing to me.
I seriously doubt that would happen anyway
because they are of questionable status themselves.

If you know so much why did you come here with your tale of woe?

Frankly you walked in the front door knew, if your version is correct, it was not right why not walk back out that door and say fix it or we go to court?

If I know so much?

I was simply saying my situation is different
than what most people would assume. Thats all.
