What is the name of your state? WI
I recently tried to sell my mobile home without a contract and gave the person the title to hold and I took his truck as part of payment. He then decided to not pay us the rest of the money and I received a letter saying it needs to be sold and so I sold it to someone else. I then told the person who is holding the title that the title needs to be given back and I would be gladly to return his truck but he also wants $2000.00. What do we do to get the title back?

Please tell me you did not sign off on the title.

If you did not sign off on the title, just apply for a duplicate from the state.

If you did sign off on the title, you will probably need to sue him to get anything straightened out.
