Buyer's acceptance of seller's response to inspection

What is the name of your state? RI
Seller responded back to buyer within 7 days of inspection to remedy one item by giving a credit at closing versus addressing the issue prior to closing. Also, was determined by heating technician of both buyer and seller that heating system was in fact in great condition and in no need of replacement. We the seller, as of yet, has not received written notification to accepance of this terms from the buyer. It will be going on 2 weeks. Isn't a written acceptance letter from the buyer required and necessary.
