Buyers dropped out of non contingent sale - legal recourse?

What is the name of your state? Maryland

We sold our house several weeks ago and the contract was non contingent on the sale of the buyers townhome. Now the buyers have dropped out because the contract on their townhome fell through. We are supposed to be closing on this house and our new house on Oct. 4. What legal recourse do we have against these buyers? We bought our new house non contingent as well so what is stopping us from doing the same thing they just did?

Thank you for your help. We are extremely upset and don't even know where to begin with all this.

That they would lose their deposit and we would get it. And if we dropped out, then we would lose our deposit so essentially we would break even.
