buying a fsbo houseI found a house on craigslist in my area, so I contacted the number and it was a guy in California who purchased the house as a bundle with 2 other houses and is just trying to sell them. He has never seen the house or anything. I went to take a look at it and I like it, it does need work but I can handle that. The house is cheap, and he doesn't have a realtor. My questions are, do I need a lawyer to buy this house? Is it advisable to have a lawyer? What is the process of how this works (it is my first time buying)? Can I have an inspector come into the house before I make an offer? Where can I find more information on this subject? Any and all help to my questions or even ones I didn't ask that I need to know would be very helpful and thank you in advance. |

| Use a lawyer, get title insurance, review all applicable easements, setbacks, right of ways and use restrictions, check municipal zoning, legal compliance/non compliance, work orders, permits, code compliance, survey, get water and septic tests if applicable, and get a complete home inspection from an accredited inspector.
