buying home AS ISWhat is the name of your state? CA I bought a home AS IS. However, the owner said he would remove all his junk from the house prior to closing. Now that it has closed, he is taking back his word and said the house is sold AS IS and refuses to remove all the junk. What can be done? |

| Pretty simple.... Get his "I don't want it" in writing... then throw away his junk.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |

| Thanks for your response. The thing is, I want him to remove it all. There are TONS of stuff he kept there. Hauling it, trashing it, takes time, money, and a lot of effort. We are currently in a position where asking him to sign something seems unlikely. |

| and I'm betting this situation was not addressed in the purchase agreement. If not, the stuff is all yours and you can do anything you want with it.

Although, buying a home with all the clutter.. you can sometimes make a fortune off of his losses. That is why investors will sometimes offer more money for the home to keep the owners belongings. Good Luck |
