buying a Trailer house

What is the name of your state? Texas

I am in the process of buying a used trailer house, and am wondering what I need to do about the titile.

The owner of the trailer house has the title, but it is not in her name. It was previously owned by two other people. When the first owner sold it, they signed the title over, but the second owners never had it transfered into their name, then when the third owner bought it, it was just signed over and it still has not been trasfered over, and the first owners name is still on the title.

My question is, does the title need to be transfered to the 3rd owner before I buy it, or can she just sign it over to me, and I get the title transfered into my name. If I can do that, what paperwork is needed for me to get the title transfered.

Thank you
Sarah

**A: make sure that the title is in the name of the Seller before you buy the trailer. Have the Seller clear up the paperwork. You may have a mess here, beware.

I agree. Taking the title to that trailer may be the beginning of a HUGE lengthy and expensive process. Make sure the seller has it all cleared up first.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Technically, the current seller doesn't fully own it. Until they do, they can't really sell it. So listen to the advice you've been given. Seller gets not one penney until they are in a position in which they can give you good title in exchange for your purchase dollars.

It's the seller's problem to figure out how.
