Can I sell my home for $1000?

What is the name of your state? ca
Well im going through a divorce and my wife is pretty much getting half. But is it possible to sell my home ($900,000) to a friend or relative for $1000? Then I will only have to give her 500 dollars. Then buy it back from that person. Is this possible?

I'M NOT A LAWYER!

That is probably considered fraud of one sort or another.

Yep, it can be done. But, you won't have the opportunity to buy it back from the family member, and you will be responsible for paying your wife her half of what you SHOULD have sold the house for.

Idiots, today? (not you, warped)

I would suspect you would need an appraisal to sell marital property and it would be appraised for more than $1000....

Yes, you can sell the home for $1,000. but since the home is marital property, and depending on if the court has already ruled or if her name is on the deed, SHE will also either have to sign the deed or you can go to jail for fraud upon the court, grand theft or both.

and you will also have a visit from the IRS.

now for everyone else who is reading this, THIS POST is the definition of ASS HOLE!

The only advice that I have is for you NOT to spend over $3 million on attorneys like my parents did. They're both broke now!
