Can I stop the sale? What is the name of your state? CA Just a day or two after we signed a sale contract, I lost my job, which was two hours away. Now we don't want to sell our house, we would rather stay here while I look for a job. Can I cancel without penalty? How soon must I cancel? |

| Yes, only if the purchaser and the buyer's/sells agents do not file charges against you in a court of law. The buyers CAN force the legally binding contracts you signed, will they, only they know the answer to that. IF you are going to try and cancel out then you should have done the the very INSTANT that you knew about this information. Good Luck and hope the buyers understand your situation. |

| We don't know what provisions are in your contract. IF the contract is subject to you getting financing and now the income is not sufficient to qualify, you should immediately give the lender's "rejection" letter to your agent. |

| Ummmm oops. I now see you are the seller. If the buyers are in love with the place, they could sue for specific performance or at least have a case for damages. Tough one. Sorry about my original post... |
