can they do that?

What is the name of your state? ca
we are 1st time buyers, and its been a nightmare! the sellers have been very hard to deal with. we signed a contingency to have the appraisel done within x amount of days, the appaiser went out to appraise the property and the seller had turned off the water, electricity and all power to the house, so he couldnt complete the appraisel, and of course we didnt make the deadline, and he had to go out and do it again, which was an addtional 200.00, is that legal???

can a seller force closing of escrow

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is the name of your state?california we are purchasing a mobile home, and we are first time buyers, and it been an absolute nightmare, the sellers have been very difficult. can they force escrow to close any faster?? they are asking us to sign a statement claiming to stop all inspections within 24 hours, our lender is sending an inspector to check the foundation, and they are rushing us! escrow is due to close in 11 days. can they still force us to sign this paper??

I just read your other post. Do you not have a real estate agent representing you? If not, I would back out of this sale immediatly.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

yes we do have a real estate agent, but she is fairly new, and i think she is trying real hard for us, she actually gave up her commision so that the sellers would be more patient with us, i just dont think she is tough enough to handle the sellers agent. i have a question, do we have to sign this contingency?? since our lender is sending someone to check the foundation, i have a feeling if we sign this paper then the lender will not be able to do the inspection, therefore our loan will not be approved, so it sounds to me like we're $#^%%$# anyway you look at it!!! please someone help!!!

Where is this agent's manager? Was the seller informed that the Appraiser (or do you mean Home Inspector) was going to appraise/inspect the home on a certain day and that the utilities must be turned on.

What contingency are you referring to?
