can they lein my half of houseWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ I have an old debt from 10 years ago, that has been sold to a third party. If I own half a house can they put a lien on the property? On the deed is my name and my boyfriends name. Last edited by maggies11; 09-11-2008 at 02:50 PM. Reason: Answer to questions asked |

| If they go to court and get a judgement they can indeed try to attach property that is even only owned by you in part. |

| I can't say whether it can happen in your specific case since you provided no details, but generally speaking it is possible to put a lien on just one co-owner's interest in a piece of property. |

| Yes I can. If you feed this OP misinformation about the law, as you so often do to those with legal questions, then I'll share it too. |

| Before anyone can answer your question, we must know EXACTLY how you hold this house.
