Can you re-use a contract?

What is the name of your state? Texas - My mother owns some property and a mobile home in San Jacinto Co., she was selling this to my son as an owner finance deal and her lawyer drew up the contracts. My son is having problems and after a family meeting, it was decided that my husband and I will purchase the property from my mother with basically the same deal. Our question is, do we have to have the lawyer draw up another contract or can we use the one they had (changing the names, dates, etc.)?

First you are dealing with family members, second you want a legal paper trail, third only a fool would not have a new contract drawn to protect all parties involved, fourth you are dealing with family members!
