Can you sue for legal costs if you win an appeal?

What is the name of your state? NY

I am suing someone in small claims court. Let's assume I win the case and then the defendant appeals the case. Can she sue me for additional costs during the appeal?

In other words, let's say she had to take a day off of work to attend the appeal and to attend the small claims case, can she sue me for those missed wages or the legal costs of attending court (although in this case, she'd probably represent herself since she is an attorney)....

Or can the appeal only reverse the decision and not tack on additional fees I must pay her?
