live in PA.

i recently signed a sales of agreement for a new construction but the realtor had told me that there were four lots but one has already been sold and people are living in it. i also asked her to find out how much they are paying for in property tax so that i can get an idea. she had told me that she tried looking it up but it is too new so it is not in the file yet. she said that the people who are living there stopped letting people in to see there house because it was getting to be a nuisance. however, i knocked on the people's door only to find out that the owner had bought it a year ago but has been built for eight years by the original owner. he also told me how much he is paying in taxes. i was so disturbed by this that i had called the realtor up and told her i want out because she misrepresented us. she said that we won't be able to take our deposit back. she has lied about so many things. i went and cancelled my check. does she have a case against us and can the builders sue us also? they never even started building until i had given them another 10%. most importantly, does this mean that i can't go looking and signing for another home until this one is settled?

You need to hire a real estate attorney to review the terms and conditions in your contract. You cannot just cancel because of the real etstae agent. You may end up losing your deposit if you terminate the contract without just cause.
