Contingent offer

What is the name of your state?What is the name of your state? MI

We sold our house based the contingency of the buyers selling their house. They sold their house 10 days before the contingency expired. Now they say they cannot afford our house. Can we hold them to the orginal agreement or at least keep the $3,000.00 deposit they put down.
