ContractWhat is the name of your state? CT We received contract, had an inspection, buyers requested some repairs, we declined in writing stating we felt confortable price agreed upon covered the costs of any repairs needed and would rather put the house back on market. Not sure if our realtor really related this message-- buyer came back wanting to move up close date to lock into interest rate-- we said would consider if could find alternative housing and finalize funding for building of our new home. We called our realtor to tell him that we couldnt move up date nor find housing-- and that financially we could only sell our house if we closed at a much later date. Can we just cancel this contract if they dont agree with our new close date? ![]() |

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.
