Question

Contract Legalities?

What is the name of your state? CA

OK...
We've just bought a home, and in the contract, the sellers stated that they would take the back yard shed and that it was not included in the sale.
We've been living there now for close to two weeks and they still have not taken the shed yet. I would like to keep it, and was wandering if there is a certain amount of time where if they don't remove the shed, it then becomes ours?
Just because it was in the contract...does that allow them to come back in...say...2 months later and still claim it (the shed) as their property?
Please help...

Get ahold of their agent and find out when they are coming to get it. That is the only honest and safe way to proceed.

Keep us posted writer. When was it agreed that the shed would be removed?

Thank you for your replys. I DO want to do the honest and right thing, but I don't want them coming back some random day requesting their shed.
As far as I know, everything that was included in the contract should have been taken when they moved...There was no exact time stated. Their realtor was never even involved in the transaction (just his assistant). I think their realtor is a pretty shady character and even the previous owners were not entirely fair or honest.
I think what I'll do is contact my realtor and have her see what she can find out. But if any one has any more knowledge to share concerning this, please let me know. Thanks!

You may also send the seller a certified rrr letter stating that if the shed is not removed by a certain date, then it will be considered abandoned and they will have no further ownership rights to same. Research your state property abandonment laws.
