Could I be liable after I disclosed nonpermited roomWhat is the name of your state? California I will be selling my home soon and have a patio that I made into a room addition but without permits. Even if I disclosed that this room is non-permited to the buyer, could I be liable for anything later? Example; If there was a fire in the room and someone got injured and the buyer blames the wiring and wants to sue. Thanks in advance Stan Last edited by slim23; 11-29-2004 at 10:19 PM. |

| If I bought the home from you and my family perished in a fire due to your faulty wiring (without permits and COs), I would definitely sue. Go back to the Town and straighten it out before you sell... |
