deposit return

hhhhWhat is the name of your state? florida I recently tried to purchase a property and put down a 1,000.00 deposit anyway the mortgage broker could not get it together on time. The realestate agent got a signed extension until next friday oct 7 the exact wording goes as follows [the seller would like to close on oct4 or as close as possible] The closing of my house which was to be the source of money to buy the property finally after all the bs. was to take place tues night oct11. with nothing in writing i called the realestate person and said ok the big day is finally here is every thing still ok before i sign my house away. i also went on to tell her that there was a three day right to cancel law and that the lender would not fund the account till then, she said no problem that the sellers were nice folks and she would just run the check out to them. So i called my closing company and told them go ahead and send out the 250 dollar mobile notary,we signed papers for two hours and said good night.Friday morning my phone rings it the realesate person saying the seller was livid and the deal was off.I immediately exercised my right to cancel the closing on my house. Now the realestate person is faxing papers from their closing company for me to sign to release the 1,000.00 to the sellers. besides taking typing and spelling lessons what should i do .thanks

You should have gotten your own agent or Atty to protect YOUR interests because everyone in this transaction had someone looking out for them except YOU. MAJOR mistake number 2.

It is very difficult for me to see why these sellers were so livid, as you put it, that they shot themselves in the foot that close to getting their money.
