Discovered issue 14 years after buyingI live in Maricopa County, AZ. I purchased my house in 1993 with the uderstanding that it was replumbed with copper plumbing. This was a selling point as the real estate agent made a point to show me the copper plumbing under all the sinks. Recently a leak developed above the bathroom ceiling and it was discovered that the drops into the bathrooms were galvanized. The pumbing in the attic is copper, the lines running to the washer, water heater and kitchen sink are all copper. It's just the drop to the adjacent bathrooms and the plumbing in the bathroom walls that was left galvanized. I'm sure the realtor was not aware of this and the previous owner was on his way out when I bought the place, so I'm almost positive he's passed away by now. I don't know if the home inspection company is still in business. After 14 years, do I have recourse against anybody assuming I can find them, or am I just stuck paying for the plumbing in the bathrooms? |

| 14 years in the home - and this is your first problem with the plumbing. . . . . . . . Normal wear and tear. Things do not last forever.

I didn't expect to have recourse, but had to ask to ease my mind before ripping the walls out to finish what was supposed to have been done when I purchased the house. |
