Do I have any Rights ?

What is the name of your state? NY This is my first time posting here. But I really need some advice
11 yrs ago. My husbands grandmother owned her house. She asked us to move in with her. In return she would will us the house free and clear. Little did we know that it was already under my husbands mother n uncles name. Her children. They told her that they would sign it back over to her, so she could will it to us. Well many yrs have passed. And they never did. Now that grandmother is in a nursing home, they refuse to sign over their 1/2's . So question is do we have any rights here? Or did we really get screwed!! After all the money we have spent on this house under the assumption that it was ours. I have a piece of paper stating that my husbands mother was going to sign her 1/2 over but now a will is up against that stating that her 1/2 will be divided into thirds, meaning it will be spilt between the 3 siblings that she has. I guess you never do business with family And this is grandmothers last wish that we have this house
