Do I need a Lawyer in AZ when buying a new house?

I am buying my first house (brand new house) in AZ. My parents on the East Coast think I'm crazy for buying a house without having an attorney.
In AZ, the title company seems to handle everything that the attorney would handle (ie title search, escrow, etc.). Do I need an attorney at closing and if so, why? Thanks for any input.

Hahaha, no title company acts as legal counsel for a Buyer.
I want you to call a few title companies up and pose the same question as in your post.
New homes. Lets see what could go wrong at least in some few hundred of thousand cases.

Yes, you need to hire an Attorney! If you do not, you will be very sorry. Take it from someone who knows! JonT
