Documentary state stamp tax on deed

What is the name of your state?What is the name of your state? FLorida

My husband and I recently signed a long, standard, purchase agreement with Engle Homes in Osceola County to buy a new construction home. I received an estimate of closing costs, and we are being charged nearly $4,000.00 for documentary stamp tax on the deed. I have never heard of this, and an internet search revealed it to be a sellers cost, as they must deliver recordable deed.
Question: is there any way I can make the seller pay this? This was sandwiched in a long paragraph of purchaser costs, and this was under a subsection of what purchaser 'May' be charged.
