eviction of tenants after close of escrow

What is the name of your state? California

In process of buying four unit property;rent control area. Agreed that we would be responsible for vacating current tenants. Property will be occupied by family members(mother and 3 daughters), and not used as income property. How do we go about evicting current tenants? Have heard that there is an monetary amount given to each tenant(s) and that tenant(s) have anywhere from 30 days to 1 year to vacate premises without paying rent. We currently own a residence and can't afford to pay mortgage on current residence, pay new tenants to move out of four unit, and pay mortgage on new property when no rents are being collected.
Also, if tenants don't leave after 30 days to a year, can we evict them without paying them a monetary amount?
What is eviction process?

Just curious . . . why would you buy a property with the intent of evicting the current tenants without first looking into what it would take to evict them?
Try bribing them with cash to get them to move out fast. If money talks, then lots of money SINGS!

You gather up each tenant's lease and read it. At the end of each lease, during the notice period, you send them a certified (RRR) letter advising them you will not be renewing the lease and giving them the required notice to quit.

As you've been told, this purchase, without these issues worked out, was not smart. Not only did you purchase the property, but you also purchased the leases and all legal responsibilities that flow from them.
