Question

ex is selling former marital home-who will profit?

What is the name of your state? michigan
the mortgage is in my name only and the title has both of our names on it. my ex is selling the house along with the ten acres of land that it sits on. the land was in her name before the marriage, we put the land in both of our names after we were married. in the divorce decree all that is mentioned regarding property is the land and an order for me to sign a quit claim deed to remove my name from the deed. i signed the quit claim deed and it has been filed. the house is not mentioned anywhere in the divorce. the last two years, me ex has been late on the mortgage every month, subsequently, destroying my credit. i signed the title which had both of our names on it. my ex sold the house for 40,000 more than what is owed. the land will go with the house since we used the land as collatarole to buy the house with. my ex says that i will not receive any extra monies made when the house and land is sold. but, i think that since the title is in both of our names that the profits will be split between the both of us. my ex says no way. who is right? i realize that this should have been taken care of with the divorce, believe me, i kick myself everyday for not catching this before i signed those papers. thank you in advance for your response.

**A: sorry, you are not the property owner anymore so are not entitled to any of the profit.
