FSBO - Please help!

What is the name of your state? Arizona.

I know this isn't really a legal question per-se, but I've searched the web for such assistance, and cannot find anything. I want to sell my house FSBO to avoid paying realtor commissions, but am concerned about not getting the contract/paperwork right. Should I hire an attorney for help? A few friends have told me it's not that complicated because the title company makes sure all the paperwork is in order anyways, but I'm still worried. I'm confident my property will sell quick without a MLS listing -that's not a concern. It's more just making sure I can handle all the paperwork myself. Does anyone know of a good website to ask questions?

You have questions - Realtor's have answers. The paperwork is the most important part, just read some of the horror stories posted in these forums. My suggestion is that if you have no clue - list with a Realtor. The commission you spend will be money well spent!

Agents earn their money

my experience is that agents earn their money, they make it happen. List the house in MLS and jack the price to cover the comissions. Agents do all the work you just sign and pick up your check. I am not a agent but have experienced this first hand.

I'm reasonably certain that you can find help at http://www.fsbo.com/ There is also a yahoo group for those who sell their own houses. I do agree with the others though, a realtor earns his/her money. Have you decided how much you absolutely must get out of the sale of this house? Why don't you get an appraisal (going to need one anyway) and see if that matches what you must get out of the house and then contact a realtor and see if they think they can get you that amount. They might tell you to go fly a kite without a contract with them but it couldn't hurt to ask.

A title company is not an attorney and neither is a fsbo website.
