About 7 years ago my parents took over the mortgage of a house and as a nice gesture and a gift, my parents decided to legally through a lawyer have the house transfered legally to me and my 2-minor daughters. My daughters at the time were ages 10 and 12. I had my daughters sign the papers and I of course signed the papers. I thought of course, I being the mother and adult that the responsibility of paying the mortage was mine. I was 34 years of age at the time. I have in the past been lax in paying the mortage on time and of course it showed on my credit report. My oldest daughter was trying to get her credit started and was turned down and went to find out why and her credit report showed my paying history on the house as her negative credit history. She and I both want to take her and my youngest daughter names off of the title and leave mine on so that it will not mess up their credit history before it gets started. My youngest right now is 16 years of age. I need to find out how I can get the negative reports off of my 19-year olds credit file. please some help!. can they be held responsible since they were minors?.
