hail damage

What is the name of your state? missouri
I sold a house to a relative in "as in" condition $5000 below appraisal. Prior to the closing date we experienced a hail storm. I have not yet received an appraisal from my insurance company. Nothing was said to me about how I should handle this. The damaged roof was quite old as well as the siding. Should I receive a substantial amount of insurance money I intended on portioning part of it to the buyers. Nothing was said to me prior to closing nor was it brought up at the closing. I am told now that the buyers are demanding all the insurance proceeds plus me paying them also my 2500 dollar deductible. Quite a deal for them if they can do this. They would all of a sudden have repairs made that would further increase the value of the home without a penny of investment. What is my legal condition here?

My response:

You see, this is the type of damage that can happen to trailers. Aluminum isn't that tough of a metal.

Tell the buyers to bite rocks. I just love their "pretzel logic." You're the one that was paying the insurance premiums, not them!!
