house ownershi My sister and I jointly own a house. Can she take a loan and put the house as collateral without I signing? Can she do it unknowingly to me? The mortgage is deducted from my checking account and I am the one that files for taxes. thank you nathalls |

| The only way she can do that is by either you giving her power of attorney or by forgery. You post is a bit strange since there can be no checking account auto debit without your approval and signature. If you are deducting the mortgage interest and housing expense for tax purposes, you must surely know of the mortgage. |
