House papers in name of US citizen spouse only?Buying a first home, if one spouse is a US citizen, and the other one is not, is it best to have the papers be in the name of the US citizen spouse only? Would this help avoid problems should the visa of the non-US citizen spouse lapse? In other words, should immigration status of non-US citizen spouse change between the time a house loan starts and ends, would this help avoid problems? |
