Question

house still occupied after closing

What is the name of your state? Louisiana
This is a hypothetical question in reference to my original thread re: no specified closing date.

Q: What happens if upon closing some articles of the seller remain in the house?

Trying to anticipate all possible scenarios from this crazy situation.

Any advice?

**A: please be specific and tell us what kind of articles would be left in your made up scenario.

"Any advice?"
*** Yep. Contact the owner in writing and request that they contact you within 30 days to recover their property.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

I'm not a lawyer, but when we took occupancy of our house, anything that was left behind was ours as far as I was concerned.

When we "closed" the deal on our house, we gave them the keys. Period. it's not ours anymore. If I wasn't ready to get my stuff out, I should've moved up my closing date.

We left a snowblower, for example. We didn't want it anymore.

***They are your's unless you asked them to remove them in your contract on or before closing.***
