We owned a home in Illinois. We listed the home with a realtor in Aug,2000 for a short sale. I showed the home to potential buyers, they were extremely interested, willing to pay cash and close in Dec. I found out that they made an offer on our home after the fact. We were informed that that the contract was sent to mortgage company for approval. I advised our realtor to contact me before anything else was done. I called the realtor later that day. I was advised at that time that the offer was countered by my agent and her attorney. I found out later that our signatures were forged on the contract and the counter offer. We never saw the offer or the contract nor were we consulted. Our agent made some demands on the buyers, they found out about the signatures and backed out of the deal which cost us the sale of our home. We finally sold the home for less money than the original offer on Apr5 and we did not make a penny off the sale. There is alot more to this situation, but I'm trying to keep it brief. My question is do we have grounds for a lawsuit against our realtor and her attorney for signing our name to contracts without our consent or any authorization?
