indefinte closing date

What is the name of your state? California

Once in escrow, is there any limit to how long a seller can delay a closing date? The current situation involves a seller that will not set a closing date after escrow has been opened and all contingencies have been removed. What are the options for the buyer to insure a reasonable close of escrow?
