Inspection fixes

What is the name of your state? or

as a part of our inspection, the seller agreed to pay for a contractor to replace the dryer vent under the house, clear the debris in the crawl space and lay new visqueen. the contractor he hired did not do the work properly. he replaced the dryer vent with duct tape which broke the first time we turned the dryer on. he layed one line of visqueen in eye shot if we looked in the crawlspace and only disposed of some of the debris. what recourse do we have for getting someone to come back and fix the work? can we choose a new contractor and have the seller pay for the work?

**A: why did you and your agent not request written confirmation of work completed by the contractor and verify via your own inspection?

inspection

we were given a paid receipt along with a contractor number. we understood that was completion of work. we then inspected his work and found that is was not completed correctly. should we have done something different?

**A: ok, have your real estate agent go back to the listing agent and voice your concerns. (via telephone AND in writing)

inspection

we did and were told that it was up to us to go back and get the contractor to fix the work and to get the seller to pay for it. we were told by the contractor that he did what he was told by the seller's agent.

**A: ok, then time to see a real estate attorney.
