Ma
I will be closing on a house at the end of Sept. There is lead in the house but doe snot state in the contract. The contract says that the owner is unaware that there is lead. My question is this:
The realitor said that if you get a lead inspection, you will have to get it deleaded if they find lead. Is this ridiculous or what? Does he know what he is talking about? I asked another agent (silently) and they said no way, it's your house..leaded or not. Thanks for any answers or comments::)

It's your house either way, but be aware that if you have it tested and verified for lead then when you sell you will have to disclose. There is no state regulation that makes you remove the lead. It can be in several places of various degrees and any house before 1978 can have some degree of lead in the paint. Best of luck.
