Leaking basementWhat is the name of your state? Virginia Purchased a Townhouse in Nov 2002 in Northern Virgina. In the last month a trickle of water appearred coming down the wall in my basement. The basement is unfinished but has some insulation up. As we had more and more rain storms I noticed the water continued to leak into the basement. Upon further inspection (by removing the insulation) I realized that someone had already tried to repair the leak by putting some sort of material on the area. So do I have any legal recourse here since the previous owners never mentioned anything about this or has to much time elapsed since the purchase? |

| Depending on the age of the house, it may still be covered under an initial 'builder's warranty' or the previous owner may have had a home warranty. Still, it should have been disclosed by the previous owner, especially if you can prove that they attempted to make a repair before you purchased it. |
