legal description of my property

What is the name of your state? CA
This sounds like a dumb question, but as they say, "nothing ventured...etc."
I spoke to my Lender about adding my kids to the deed on my house. They gave me the go ahead, so I obtained the correct form and am completing it. The only thing is I do not know where in the closing docs there is the legal description of the property. I have read here that this is crucial to accurate recording of a grant deed. So where do I find this?
Thanks.

If you have a copy of your mortgage, it should be there. Usually the 2nd or 3rd page or as an attachment marked exhibit "A". If not, try your property survey, tax records or your original deed. If all else fails, try your local property appraisers office. Good luck.

**A: yes, it is so crucial you should have an attorney handle it for you.
