Nasty Neighbor

What is the name of your state? Colorado
Two years ago we bought a home from a woman whose son lived next door. All she said was that "Tommy stuck to himself and was not the marrying kind" Her real estate agent was her son-in-law and had almost nothing to say about our new neighbor. Since than we and all of the neighbors have been terrorized by this man and his dogs and his stalking girlfriend. I have been swerved at while walking my dog and harrassed verbally. The police have labled him a problem property. He has been convicted twice for felonies. One of them was a violent offence that had happened at our new home just before we bought it. It involved a shotgun. The owner and the real estate agent were both aware of this man's history when we purchased the house. My question is... Is it buyer beware for me? Did the agent or home owner have any duty to disclose this man's history. What if we decide to sell?
HELP!!!

Are you asking if a real estate agent has to disclose that their are nutty people in the neighborhood?

Where, pray tell, would there NOT be nutty people in the neighborhood?

You have no case.

Thank you for your response. This real estate agent was fully aware of this man's history since it was his brother-in-law. What if he were a sexual offender? Would that make a difference? Does this mean I don't have a duty to disclose this man's history if I decide to sell?

SO....is he or is he not a sexual offender, or was that really just a "what if" question?

I am from Colorado. Yes, that was just a "what if" question. You still have not answered my question. Do I have a legal duty to disclose my neighbor's history if I decide to sell?

I/we did not answer your question because FACTS were missing! No need to get snippy!!

IMO: If your neighbor has not done anything illegal (in the eyes of the law) that's documented, then you DON'T have to tell the new buyers. Again....only my opinion.

Maybe the NEW OWNER'S will like the guy and not have any problems.

It may very well be that YOU are HYPER-SENSITIVE.
