need advise if my property is too long

What is the name of your state? ny
i am ready to close on my house but today the buyers title company is saying that i took 6 feet from the city in the front. i measured the lengh of my property and i am 6 feet to long in the front. but so is every other house on the block and in the entire area. i live in flushing queens. i measured every house on my block (30 homes ). all are 106ft in lengh instead of 100. should i worry? my lawyer is away until monday and im going nuts here, any advise would make me and my wife feel better, ty. you can answer here or email me at [email]blue87corvette@aol.com[/email]

Does the legal description agree with your deed, survey, title insurance, or other papers from when you purchased the property?

Who did your current survey or legal description? The legal description for your property should NOT include the city's right of way for tree bank, present or future sidewalk or street widening. So if you are measuring from edge of street or sidewalk you may be wrong and should consult someone who knows what they are doing.
