Unhappy

Pls help! Previous owner is a petty thief!

What is the name of your state?...okay I'm Canadian - hope that is ok...just wanting general advice as I'm clueless with legal things.

I bought a house and the previous owner has been nothing but miserable...after the sale, he told me that some kitchen cabinets were custom made & were his (they were identical to the others). Went in the house to take some pictures on the walkthrough but he said I had to give him advanced notice to take pictures! So I just gave in and paid him for the counter/cupboards.

He left a bunch of his personal things after I gained possesion...then came back for it & just left the junk for me (also he didn't clean one bit). The next morning I noticed the window coverings were missing and when I called the realtor (who called the other realtor) he told me that the previous tenant probably did this as it couldn't possibly be the previous owner.

Next - there were supposed to 2 garage door openers (on paper). When I called to enquire I was told the previous owner left them in the mailbox...not there.

I'm worried about my things and even my safety. Is this kind of behavior common. What can I do?

Appreciate that you are trying to use humour. You're a judge? No wonder why the U.S. is in so much trouble!

Change the locks. Change the combos on the garage door opener.

No this is not normal behavior in any country.

Hire a Canadian attorney.
