Question

private sale


What is the name of your state? calif. we had a second property for sale with a realator about 1 year ago but we took it off the market after about a month. now we have a private buyer. is the realator out of the picture?

Check your copy of the agreement/contract you had with the realtor. There should be specifics on there as to whether the realtor has the right to a commission if you sell to a private party, and/or when the realtor's right to a claim expires.

I know less than nothing, but that just makes sense to me.

If your contract has been expired about a year, I do not see any reason a private sale now would be problematic.

I would tend to agree subject to the writer's review of the listing contract terms and conditions.
