Exclamation

tennessee: my husband and i bought a home and from what was on the purchase agreement and all of the disclosures there was only one thing wrong with the house: the bathroom floor had water damage and it was being replaced once the seller's had an offer. they fixed the floor, new wood, new covering. after we get in we noticed that the floor right when you walk in the b/r was sinking! not only that the faucets in the b/r were away from the wall and water had been leaking down behind the wall! there is a coat closet in the living rm and we noticed the carpet was discolored so my husband pulled it up and could tell that it had been removed before b/c it was so easy to pull up..low and behold there is the ground! how did the inspector miss this and what can we do about it! will the seller be responsible? they only labeled one problem and said they would fix it and you could tell the hole had been there a while! they moved the backing away from the bathtub where the pipes are before they left and that is what led us to believe there was something wrong..what can we do?

The Seller did not properly disclose those conditions. The inspector did not see it because it was hidden.

question in reply!!!

So is there anything we can do about it? I mean should the sellers be responsible to pay for the damages?

Inspectors do not remove furniture nor lift floor coverings, period. So contact the sellers and see if they will help. Good luck.

If the Seller do not take action to help you then hire an attorney.
