Problems with Seller's Attorney

I live in Ithaca, New York and am having problems with the purchasing of some land. I have placed a purchase offer on a property to purchase. The sellers' have agreed and sign the offer. I have ordered my home, which will be here on Wedneday November 14th, 2001. My problem is that the seller's attorney has had the paper work to do the abstract and title search for over a month. He seems to be dragging his feet and I can not get my attorney to do any thing to speed the process up. I was hoping to be moved in within the next few weeks. I am not going to be able to with out the closing of the land. I am not sure what I need to do to get the process rolling on the closing of my land. Please let me know what I can do to get moved into my home.

Thanks

You should be talking to your attorney or hire a new one.

Problems with Seller's Attorney

I have tried contact my attorney to have him find out what is going on. He never returns my phone calls or returns them and has nothing new to tell me. He always says there is nothing further that he can do until the seller's Attorney gets the paper work to him. He won't even call the Seller's Attorney. I have paid my attorney $200 (he has cashed the check). The only thing that he has done up to this point is send them a letter that was dated October 3,2001. Do I have the right to request back the $200 because he hasn't provided me the service that I asked for?

That may be the problem, the measly $200 bucks.
Leave a message to see if he needs more money and I bet he'll call you back.
