Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |

You seem to be all concerned over YOUR getting your hands on the property have you even explored with Mom her alternatives or lack thereof? |

| | | Agreed. If your mom has equity in the property and is 62 or older, she may qualify for a reverse mortage. She can contact a HUD approved, non-profit housing counselor by calling 800-569-4287. |

You answered none of the questions about her beign able to get some equity out to pay the taxes or the suggestion HUD-1 recommended, only how can you get hold of the property.
We only have what you give us in order to reply. |

All you have to do is walk in and pay the taxes for the property and request the tax deed. The owner of the home then has 1 year to pay you the taxes owed on the property (plus interest if you so desire to charge it). if they don't pay you then file in court to take possesion of the property. |

How many other states afford this opportunity? In my area and COUNTY you have to wait until the propert tax bill is up for sell then you as well as the big organizations that now scoop most tax bills up can bid for the lien. In addition there is NO limit on the interest rate you can charge for that person to redeem. Of course the limitation is that the lowest bid gets the lien.
Interesting I have never heard of walking right in and paying a tax bill and getting the tax lien. |

Interesting I have never heard of walking right in and paying a tax bill and getting the tax lien. | There are a few states that do it this way but not a lot. As long as you purchase the tax deed before the auction your good to go. Most of the time they are a year or two behind before it gets to the auction point. | |
