Putting home in another's name

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana

My brother-in-law is getting divorced in Arizona and has won an auction on a foreclosed house near us in Indiana.

In order to hide ownership of this property during the divorce proceedings he has asked his sister (my wife) to put the deed in her name. There will be no mortgage on this home.

I'm against the idea simply because it sounds shady. What are the possible problems my wife could run into by pulling this stunt?

Thanks for your time.

Dude, once a judge gets wind of this little scheme, he's not gonna be too happy with your brother in law or your wife.

In order to hide ownership of this property
Without reading anything else, this alone rings the alarm of danger. Trying to legally hide something, if successful can help some issues, if not, can lead to prison and to substantive general and punitive damages.

**A: the brother-in-law's exwife's divorce attorney would love to go to court on this.
