quit claim deed

my mother is dying. her home is in her name. i and one of my sisters have power of attorney. i am her at home caregiver and my siblings have chosen to give all proceeds of our mother's home to me even though her will says that it is to be split between all of us. since i will need money to live on as quickly as possible we are thinking it would be best to do a quit claim deed putting the house in my name so that it can be sold more quickly than if it went through probate. is this possible and is it wise?

Yes, it is possible but the best way would be for her to sign the deed, notarize and have it recorded.
