real estate closingWhat is the name of your state? new york i am in the process of selling a nyc condo. i have a contract of sale signed july 21, and an, on or about close date set for aug 21. it is sept 20 and a close date has not been set. the purchaser has been unavailable for the past month with varying reasons, out of town, transferring monies etc. 30 days have pasted since the on or about close date. can i request that the purchaser start paying my carrying costs? when is the purchaser considered default? does the contract ever expire or can the purchaser just take her sweet time, which is apparently what she is doing... help |

| Look at your purchase contract. There should be a settlement date. If the property does not close by the settlement date and you and the buyer have not signed an addendum extending that date, then the contract is void. Where is you Realtor?
