i have been buying a house with my boyfriend for the past 4 years. we're splitting up and i would like for him to refinance the house in his name only. is there anything i can do to expedite this process and collect the small amount of equity i have?

If your boyfriend has decent credit it should take no more than 3 weeks to have the house transfered to his name only and have the mortgage placed in his name only - I assume your name will be removed from the deed to the house.

You should be following up with him and the title company daily to make sure he is providing the mortgage broker all of the documents and information they need to get the deal done quickly.
