| Calif. I decided to buy a twin home ($189K) from the listing agent because she told me it was the lowest priced 3/2 home that had been on the market in a very long time. When I asked for a market analysis she put me off, but I saw the MLS and there weren't any other homes near that price. And she told me a similar twin home just sold for $245K.
10 days after placing the offer, I discovered:
1. There was no twin home which sold for $245K.
2. There were many 3/2 homes which sold for $189K or less, even as recently as 6 days before she received the listing
3. She failed to disclose age restrictions. (Her broker said it would have come out later in the title report)
4. She said she could do the property inspection herself.
Three weeks ago I filed a complaint with the DRE and the local association of realtors. Since it's the realtor's word against mine, do I have any recourse? I haven't heard anything yet about my complaint. |
